New Form of Section 21 Notice

New Form of Section 21 Notice

The Section 21 Notice is being amended to incorporate the changes made under the Tenant Fees Act 2019 which brings further restrictions on serving a Section 21 Notice under the Housing Act 1988 where a landlord has taken a prohibited payment.

The amendments to the Section 21 Notice (Form 6A) come into force on 01 June 2019.

Landlords will be unable to serve a Section 21 Notice where a prohibited payment has been taken. If a prohibited payment has been taken, it must be refunded to the relevant person before a Section 21 Notice can be served.

The amendments to the Section 21 Notice are made under the The Assured Tenancies and Agricultural Occupancies (Forms) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2019.
